Building up Competences Through the JobFit-Training for Schools

Summary: The present survey examines the effects of the universal prevention measure JobFit-Training in a school setting. 72 students, aged 13;10 to 17 participated in the study. 11 of them were assessed as being marginal or salient antisocial in behavior. The pre-post differences of the subscale-measures of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ-L: Emotional Symptoms, Conduct Problems, Hyperactivity, Prosocial Behavior and Total Difficulties) of the intervention group differed significantly from the control group. Similar results were found for the Lehrereinschätzliste für Sozial- und Lernverhalten (LSL; Teacher Assessment Schedule for Social and Learning Behavior) on its subscales Cooperation and Empathy and Willingness to Help. The JobFit-Training reduces problematic behavior and experience and builds up social competences (resources) as individual protective or compensatory factors.
