Summary: In this article we introduce a study which examines the long-term effects of school projects with newspapers for the first time. 937 juveniles were asked about their attitude towards reading a newspaper, their interest in the topics covered by newspapers, their reasons for reading, anticipated newspaper reading etc. Those juvenile, who had participated (n = 176) or had not participated (n = 165) in the project „Newspaper in elementary school“ (ZIG) were identified and their answers were compared. It was shown that juveniles who participated in ZIG when they were children had a higher affinity to newspapers than the ones who had not participated.
